Multi-generational living in the LaVie quarter – community in Munich-Feldmoching

LA VIE
the name says it all

Living means sharing with one another, supporting each other and giving everyone the feeling of being part of a unique community. At LaVie, social interaction is a central element of an identity shared across the whole quarter.

A QUARTER THAT OFFERS MORE

LaVie also means living in harmony with nature.
It is the first quarter with a shared
mobility concept. Numerous footpaths and cycle paths within the quarter create a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere.

Green spaces and parkland in the LaVie quarter in Munich-Feldmoching

Ecological diversity

Sustainability and species protection are at the heart of the quarter. Species-rich orchard meadows and seasonally wet areas promote biodiversity in the Lerchenauer Feld. These measures create valuable habitats and ensure natural climate adaptation in the quarter.

Green living environment

A central green belt runs through the quarter from north to south. It links extensive parkland with intelligent rainwater retention. A wide range of uses, from the water playground to the sledging hill, lets all residents experience nature first-hand.

Connected mobility

Squares with a uniform design language allow all road users to share the space on an equal footing. Coloured surfacing, large shade-giving trees and water features create attractive traffic areas that also serve as cool, social meeting points and strengthen the quarter’s identity.

Lavie is sustainable

A key aspect of sustainability is the conservation of resources. Under the headline ‘Save. Preserve. Balance.’, the aim is to handle the resources of energy, water and soil mindfully and responsibly.

Energy icon – sustainable supply in the LaVie quarter

Energy

Low energy costs thanks to efficient construction: energy is supplied sustainably via district heating from SWM and the quarter’s own photovoltaic systems on the roofs.

Soil icon – minimal soil sealing in the LaVie quarter

Soil

Minimal soil sealing thanks to compact building heights and private residential lanes. Communal car parks serving the quarter save ground space for new vegetation, while green flat roofs further relieve the pressure on the valuable resource of soil.

Water icon – sponge city principle in the LaVie quarter

Water

The sponge city principle applied to the open spaces allows maximum rainwater absorption. Green roofs and cisterns drain the water safely, collect it and store it efficiently.

DGNB Gold pre-certificate for sustainable building in the Lerchenauer Feld

Sustainable and resource-efficient

Gold certification to the highest standards of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) is being sought for the entire quarter. The Lerchenauer Feld has already been awarded the Gold pre-certificate for districts – only the second quarter in Munich to receive it.
